Agriculture

The rich, fertile soil of the Saginaw Valley has supported generations of farmers whose abundant harvests have earned the Bay City area the nickname “Bread Basket of Michigan.” Road-side stands, u-pick farms, and the Farmers Market feature the area’s famous berries, melons and vegetables. The Bay City area’s navy beans, sugar beets, corn, pickles and potatoes feed people the world over.
