Lost in a foggy collision in May of 1965, the Cedarville is one of the largest shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. Ten crewman were lost in the accident, and the Coast Guard later blamed the captain for a series of bad judgement calls. Award-winning videographer Ric Mixter was the first to conduct television interviews with the crew who survived, including wheelsman Len Gabrysiak. The story of the Cedarville has since been shared on PBS with documentaries like "DEEP SIX: TITANICS OF THE GREAT LAKES" and "CUTTER RESCUES". Ric also featured the crewmen's stories in his new book "THE WHEELSMEN", which will be available for sale and signing by the author.
Join Ric for rare interviews from the men who survived the sinking and underwater footage of what the giant self-unloader looks like today.
